Zurich, Switzerland – Sri Lankan endurance athlete Mahesh Kannangarage delivered an impressive performance at the prestigious Zurich City Triathlon, finishing 122nd overall in the Men’s 35–44 Sprint Triathlon category.
Competing against 1,333 athletes, Kannangarage completed the demanding event in an overall time of 1 hour, 28 minutes and 28 seconds.

The Zurich City Triathlon is one of Switzerland’s premier endurance events, attracting more than 6,000 participants from around the world across multiple race categories each year.
Speaking to Life Traveler News, Kannangarage said this was his fifth consecutive year competing in the Zurich City Triathlon.
Originally from Aluthgama, Sri Lanka, Kannangarage now resides in Switzerland and is an official member of the Swiss Triathlon.
He also revealed that he has registered for the Ironman 70.3 Emilia-Romagna in Italy, scheduled for this September, and is currently preparing for the event.
In addition, Kannangarage said he will participate in a 100-kilometre hiking challenge in Zurich next August as part of his endurance training.
Beyond competition, he has set an ambitious personal goal of completing a 5-kilometre run in 100 countries. So far, he has completed the challenge in 38 countries, steadily progressing toward his target.
