The Coconut Development Authority of Sri Lanka, together with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Netherlands facilitated a delegation of five leading Sri Lankan cocopeat, coir and coconut based product companies (NB Coir, Marisha Coco Products, Green Space International, Eco Films, Colombo Quality Coir) to successfully represent Sri Lanka at the internationally renowned GreenTech Amsterdam 2026, held from 9–11 June 2026 at RAI Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
The Sri Lanka Pavilion was officially opened by Rekha Gunasekera, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Netherlands, Mariska Dreschler, Director Horticulture, GreenTech Global, and Shanti Pahladsingh, Advisor International Business (Netherlands–Sri Lanka), Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), together with five participating companies. The pavilion showcased Sri Lanka’s premium coir and cocopeat products, highlighting the country’s expertise in producing high-quality, sustainable coir-based growing media for the global horticulture sector.
During the three-day exhibition, the Sri Lankan delegation engaged with potential buyers, distributors, growers, and industry stakeholders from across Europe and other international markets. The event provided valuable opportunities to explore new business prospects, strengthen existing commercial relationships, and showcase the quality, reliability, and sustainability of Sri Lankan coir and cocopeat products. Visitors to the Sri Lanka Pavilion had the opportunity to learn more about Sri Lanka’s coconut industry and its contribution to environmentally responsible agricultural solutions.
The strong presence of Sri Lankan companies at one of Europe’s leading horticultural exhibitions reflected the longstanding partnership between the two countries and their continued commitment to strengthening trade, investment, and knowledge exchange in the agriculture and horticulture sectors, significant particularly as Sri Lanka and the Netherlands celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the establishment of formal diplomatic relations this year.
GreenTech is widely recognized as the global meeting place for professionals in agriculture technology and serves as a leading platform for the international horticulture community. The event brought together technology companies, researchers, breeders, growers, suppliers, advisors, and industry experts from across the globe to explore the latest innovations and emerging trends shaping the future of horticulture. Sri Lanka’s participation at GreenTech Amsterdam 2026 further reinforced the country’s position as one of the world’s leading suppliers of coir-based growing media and highlighted its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and value-added agricultural exports.
