A selection of behind-the-scenes moments from Vihanga Premaya, the latest cinematic creation directed by acclaimed Sri Lankan filmmaker Sanjeewa Pushpakumara, has been shared ahead of its theatrical release.
Also known internationally as Peacock Lament, Vihanga Premaya is a 2026 Sri Lankan Sinhala-language drama film written and directed by Sanjeewa Pushpakumara.
The film was co-produced by Chiara Barbo of Pilgrim Film and Sanjeewa Pushpakumara under Sapushpa Expressions.
Peacock Lament had its world premiere at the 35th Tokyo International Film Festival in 2022, earning international attention ahead of its release in Sri Lanka.
The behind-the-scenes images offer audiences a glimpse into the creative process, production environment, and the dedication of the cast and crew who worked to bring the film to life.
Vihanga Premaya is scheduled to be released in Sri Lankan cinemas on August 7, 2026.
