The owner and Managing Director of House of Fashions, Preethi Jayawardena, has been remanded following his arrest by Sri Lanka Customs in connection with an ongoing investigation.
According to reports, Jayawardena was taken into custody by Customs officials over an alleged customs valuation issue.
While in the custody of Customs officials, he reportedly developed a sudden heart-related medical condition and was subsequently admitted to a private hospital in Colombo.
The Colombo Chief Magistrate later visited the hospital and examined Jayawardena before issuing an order to remand him.
Sri Lanka Customs is carrying out further investigations into the matter.
Authorities have not yet concluded the investigation, and the allegations remain subject to the legal process.
